about.
This project was created as part of the final assignment for the Digital Designer course led by Tomasz Biskup—one of Poland’s leading creative directors.
I chose to redesign the website of Sophie Alda Studio, a UK-based ceramics brand run by a multidisciplinary artist whose work blurs the lines between function, sculpture, and narrative. While the existing site presented beautiful, original photography, it failed to fully express the unique aesthetic and tactile quality of her ceramics—or guide users through a smooth browsing and shopping experience.
The goal was to reflect the brand’s artistic identity through a more intuitive, elegant, and conversion-oriented website.
challenge.
The original website lacked a clear user flow, which risked creating friction and confusion—particularly for new visitors. Navigation was inconsistent, product visibility was low, and the overall structure didn’t support a strong brand story or sales funnel.
The key challenge was to maintain the artist’s unconventional, narrative-driven identity while building a site that improved UX, highlighted the craftsmanship, and supported both exploration and conversion.
result.
The outcome was a fully responsive, high-fidelity website prototype designed in Figma for both desktop and mobile. The redesign included:
A clearly defined user journey with simplified navigation
A restructured layout that spotlighted products and storytelling elements
Enhanced product presentation using existing brand photography
A user-first information architecture built around conversion paths, personas, and user needs
The project received highly positive feedback from course mentor Tomasz Biskup, who praised its strategic depth and execution—especially given it was my first full web design project.
